Our philosophy

Food Therapy — more than a meal plan

Janine Rodrigues founded Singular Nutrition Services after years of watching the same pattern repeat itself: women arriving at their first appointment exhausted, dismissed, and carrying a stack of test results that said “everything is normal” — while their bodies told a completely different story.

What she found — in her clinical training, in her research, and in every client who walked through her virtual door — was that the conventional medical system is built around individual diagnoses. You see one specialist for your thyroid, another for your gut, your OBGYN for perimenopause. No one is looking at how they all connect. And in women over 40, they almost always do.

“I was trained to treat conditions. But I kept seeing that what my clients needed most was someone to treat the person — all of it, together, as a system.” — Janine Rodrigues, MS, MLIS, CNS, LDN, CDN

That conviction became the foundation of our practice and our signature approach: Food Therapy. Not a diet. Not a protocol borrowed from a textbook. A deeply personalized, root-cause nutrition strategy built around who you are, what your body is doing, and what it actually needs.

1

Root cause over symptom suppression

We look for why your body is responding the way it is — not just how to quiet the symptoms. That is the only path to lasting change.

2

The whole person, not one diagnosis

Most clients manage multiple overlapping conditions. We are trained to see and address all of them simultaneously — not in isolation.

3

Clinical precision with genuine warmth

Rigorous science, personalized protocols, and a therapeutic relationship built on trust. Both are necessary. Neither is optional.

4

Accessible, insurance-covered care

Specialized nutrition therapy should not be a luxury. We accept major insurance plans so the women who need this care the most can actually access it.

5

Long-term partnership, not a quick fix

Hormonal and autoimmune conditions evolve over time. We are here for the full journey — not just the first chapter.

Clinical expertise

Six interconnected specialty areas

Each specialty is deeply connected to the others. The gut drives hormone metabolism. Thyroid dysfunction worsens weight resistance. Estrogen decline amplifies autoimmune activity. We are trained to see and address the full picture.

🌿

Perimenopause & Menopause

Hormone-supportive nutrition for the transition years — managing hot flashes, bone density, cardiovascular risk, mood, sleep, and the metabolic changes driven by estrogen decline.

🦋

Thyroid & Hashimoto’s

Targeted nutrient protocols for thyroid function, Hashimoto’s antibody reduction, and addressing the weight gain, fatigue, and brain fog that thyroid medication alone often misses.

🔬

Autoimmune Conditions

Anti-inflammatory nutrition for lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, IBD, celiac, and psoriasis — identifying dietary triggers, restoring gut integrity, and supporting immune regulation.

🌱

Gut Health

Microbiome restoration for IBS, SIBO, leaky gut, and dysbiosis. The gut is the foundation of hormone metabolism and immune function — healing it changes everything else.

💛

Disordered Eating

Rebuilding a peaceful, trusting relationship with food after years of restriction, chronic dieting, or conflicting advice — holding both clinical nutrition needs and the emotional dimension simultaneously.

⚖️

Midlife Weight Loss

Addressing the real drivers of weight resistance after 40: insulin resistance, hormonal shifts, thyroid dysfunction, gut imbalance — not willpower or calorie restriction.

How we work

Our clinical approach

01

Deep-dive assessment

Every client relationship begins with a comprehensive 55-minute intake. We review your full health history, symptom timeline, lab values, dietary patterns, and goals. No detail is too small — the full picture matters.

02

Personalized root-cause protocol

Your nutrition protocol is built entirely around your individual biology and your life. We use specialty lab testing — hormone panels, thyroid markers, GI-MAP stool analysis, and food sensitivity testing — to add precision to every recommendation.

03

Ongoing partnership

Hormonal and autoimmune conditions are not resolved in a single program — they evolve. We provide ongoing support through regular follow-up sessions, lab reviews, protocol adjustments, and between-session messaging.

Who we work with

Women who are done being dismissed

Women in perimenopause or menopause who are gaining weight, losing sleep, and feeling like a stranger in their own body — despite doing everything right.

Women with thyroid disease or Hashimoto’s whose labs are “normal” but who still feel exhausted, foggy, and stuck at a weight their body refuses to budge from.

Women living with autoimmune conditions who were never told that what they eat has a profound impact on their flares, inflammation, and energy levels.

Women with chronic gut issues — IBS, bloating, constipation, SIBO — who are tired of eliminating foods with no clear answers.

Women with a complicated history with food — restriction, chronic dieting, emotional eating — who want to heal that relationship while also addressing real clinical needs.

Women who want a clinician who will see all of it — not just one diagnosis — and build a real, long-term plan around the full picture of their health.

You deserve care that connects the dots.

Most of our clients come to us after years of seeing multiple specialists who each treated one piece of the puzzle. We are trained to see how everything fits together — and to build a plan that addresses the root, not just the symptoms.

We work virtually across Florida and beyond, and we accept most major insurance plans — including Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, and CareFirst Blue Cross Blue Shield.
